ARTIST STATEMENT

My pictures are not an answer, but rather a task, for the viewer as well as for myself. My pictorial language develops on the painting surface. With the interplay of the appropriate and inappropriate color. Sometimes wafer-thin, more filigree representations that only get the one-time opportunity to apply paint, since the painting surface is the finest material. Or then layers that arise on the canvas, which are based on the selected work process. Inspiration comes from people and nature. Not images, more mood memories. These basic paintings, as I call them, sometimes wait a long time at the beginning of the picture until the next layer is ready to complete the picture. Sketches and uncontrolled strokes are like a red thread that runs through my paintings. An inner necessity leads me to the brush or the tool.
